Terrible rainfly zipper design

Serious design flaw with the rainfly zipper design. The flap over the zipper gets caught every time you try to unzip it from the inside. While I like the compact design, roomy interior, and ease of setup of the tent, the zipper flaw is too annoying to ignore.

I would not buy this tent again.

This tent has zero venting once the rain fly is closed up. The condensation (one person) was dripping i side in the early morning. Also, the zippers on both vestibules (there are two) always jam up because of the "storm flap(s) on all 4 of the zippers (2 for each door). At one point I thought I was going to have to cut myself out with my knife. Never had a tent (and I've had a number of them) do that. Poor design. Other than that it seems of quality material. Just bought it in Early June, '25, just got out for first 3 night camp out with this tent late July. Constantly had issues with the zippers. North Face is known for quality products...this is not one of them.

Love this tent

I have had this tent for well over 10yrs!! It's still waterproof. Very durable. I've taken it backpacking even though it's not light weight and feel secure knowing how weather proof it is.

3 weeks in wet Tofino

My wife, dog and I camped in Tofino for 3 weeks. We had some huge storms(20mm of rain in 2hrs, huge wind, at one point it felt like the tent folded in half but we survived!).We never got wet. Just make sure you set it up properly and the inner tent doesn't touch the water layer. The zippers to get outside could be tricky sometimes but that's the only thing.100% recommend. PS: don't forget to buy the foot print.

I would absolutely buy another Stormbreak 3.

I've had my Stormbreak 3p tent for 3 years now, and used it over 30 times. Never had condensation or puddling despite camping in heavy rain a few times. Bombproof

SO. MUCH. CONDENSATION!

THE QUALITY OF MATERIALS IS GOOD. I WOULDN'T EXPECTLESS FROM A NORTHFACE PRODUCT. HOWEVER THIS TENT DOES NOT BREATHE. LIKE AT ALL. THE CONDENSATION DRIPS INTO THE TENT WHEN YOU TRY AND EXIT FROM THE POORLY DESIGNED DOORS. AND TO REACH THE ZIPPERS WHICH ARE AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE TO EXIT THE TENT, YOU END UP TOUCHING YOUR CLOTHES TO THE CONDENSATION COVERED FLY. IT IS GROSS. TECHNICALLY THE TENT IS WATERPROOF SINCE TOU CAN LITERALLY BE CAMPED IN A PUDDLE AND IT DOESN'T COME IN. AND I DID INCREASE MY RATING BECAUSE OF THIS. BUT THE CONDENSATION PROBLEM BRINGS THAT MUCH WATER INSIDE ANYWAYS. I HATE THIS TENT

ive done everything with this tent

I've used this tent for backcountry camping, hunting, using it as my tent while working wildfire in Alberta. I've had my dog in it with my (110lbs). and spent probably 50 nights in it since i bought it a couple of years ago. Nothing has broken on it, its still waterproof, it packs well into my backpacking bag, it was relatively cheap. Really nothing i can complain about. Nice job North Face

Best Option on the Market-for beginners

I recently switched to the North Face Stormbreak 2 tent from another model, and I'm really impressed. It's durable, easy to set up, and perfect for camping. The 2-person version is spacious enough for two people and all their gear. Overall, a great choice for beginners or anyone looking for a reliable tent!
