Low Battery when purchased

This is a gift for my friend. When my friend used this product for only half a month, it is slower for 1 hour. We thought it was because we did not set it right. Then it was stopped completely. We took the watch to a retail store, that it was because of low battery. When we purchased from Macy's, we are expecting a good service and a good product.
