Just some thoughts

Spoon very large but it has a nice weight. It will take time to determine how it washes but it seems to be a nice set.

Beautiful Merlemont Flatware

I am very happy with my new Villeroy & Boch Merlemont Flatware Set. It has classic, beautiful styling and a lovely mirror finish. I bought it to coordinate with my 15+ year old Villeroy & Boch Bernadotte Crystal Glassware. Our (Bloomingdale’s) shipment was prompt and well packaged,too!

Pretty thrilled with the subtle glam of Merlemont!

The V&B Merlemont has an understated, refined look. And the mirror-like shine is gorgeous. I pair this with the off-white Artesano dinnerware - casual perfection. The reveal lines following the shape are not overdone and add a bit of interest to an otherwise simple profile. Retiring my overly-heavy and curvy vintage Dansk flatware, I was initially concerned about the visual 'flatness' of the overall form, but I have to say I am thrilled with the feel and subdued design. What I especially like are the slightly pointed spoons, they really allow you to get that last bit of yogurt or veggie soup in the bowl. And the forks are sharp; you can really impale that lettuce. After seeing some light rusty-ish spots on a couple knife blades just out of the dishwasher, it helps to give blade a preventative wipe before putting in the DW so rust doesn't develop. Super happy with Villeroy & Boch's quality dinnerware and flatware.
