Rust

Knives rusted when placed in dishwasher. The whole reason I bought these was because they said dishwasher safe. Bought 3 sets less than a month after receiving 4 of the 12 knives had rust spots on blades.

the weight and knife style has changed

I purchased 3 of the Montauck place settings and the matching serving pieces back in 2020 for our new home in Florida and I absolutely loved the weight and feel of the pieces. So when we had to purchase more place settings for our townhome in Indiana I wanted the same as what I had purchased before but I discovered upon using these newly purchased pieces, the style of the knife changed from the original solid new French blade to more like a steak knife shape and these newer pieces are not weighted like the set I had bought in 2020. Not sure why Villeroy and Boch decided to make this change but I’m so disappointed and now I won’t be able to put the sets together once we no longer have our townhome in Indiana and we retire to Florida full time. I would’ve definitely recommended this beautiful set back in 2020 because the pieces were nicely heavily weighted and I get tons of compliments on them but now I would not recommend purchasing the place setting pieces because they are not solid and not weighted like my original set. So very disappointing : ( Not sure why they changed the design!
