Love the continuous variable speed

Just the right size to circulate air in our 10 foot ceiling room. Before the fan the temperature at the ceiling was 6 degrees higher than at seating level. Now we have about the same temperature with the fan circulating the air. The continuous variable speed allows fine tuning of the air circulation unlike low, medium, high only.

Perfect mid-size fan

This is my third Vornado and its excellent. Quiet, lightweight and efficient. It is plastic but still looks and feels nice. I think the DC motor contributes to its quietness.

Impressed

We’ve had a Vornado for 10 years and enjoyed it. It finally died about a month ago and we got a new one with trade in. This one is energy efficient and the best feature is the dimmer knob to make it as low or high as you like. The quality is also excellent. I expect this to last us another 10 years.

Nice fan

Nice fan with quiet efficient operation. 4 stars because the cord is made out of very stiff materials and never loses it's memory. If bent in cold conditions it will crack.

Quiet and effective!

My old fan broke and I needed an upgrade so I decided to buy this one. Not only is the look and quality of this fan great, it also is the perfect white noise sound for sleeping at night while keeping my room cool. This fan is worth the money and it will last for a long time!

Almost all that I'd hoped it would be

I move the 633DC with me around the house during air conditioning season. It's quiet enough to operate while my wife and I watch TV or talk at supper. It's part of my keeping cool while I exercise vigorously on my Nordic Track skier. Keeps me cool at my desk, all while allowing my to keep the a/c thermostat at 76 or 77º. My suggestion is that it's awkward to reach the speed control knob when the fan is tilted up. Also, the power cord should be more supple.

Pushes a lot of air, but mine made an annoying harmonic noise - Maybe I'm the problem?

First, I think this would likely get 5 stars from most people. I however appear to be hard to please when it comes to fans for dronding out background noise - which is why I spent the extra money on the 633DC. I think the DC is the issue - more on that later. In my experience, at certain distances, at higher speeds, this fan creates an annoying, low frequency, harmonic noise that drove me nuts. It goes - woo.....woo....woo...etc, etc. Vornado was great. They returned the unit free without hassle. Maybe limited to the DC version? I have since purchased the 660 model, which is AC. It's perfect. No annoying harmonics. I have a strong background in electronics and I suspect the issue with the DC version is that DC motors (rather the driver circuit) needs a consistant load to stay consistent. In the case of a fan, air pressure pushing against the blades creates the load. But as air pressure changes, the DC drive "feathers" power. Similar to cruise control on your car. Vornado is a smart company, so I'm sure they will get this ironed out at some point. For now, I'll stay with AC. And of course I recommend Vornado to anyone who is less annoying than me.

Just what I needed!

I used Vornado website's product comparison to choose a powerful, quiet fan. It fits in small spaces, and really moves air well. I use it alone, or to expand the range of my portable air conditioner. I like the 10-year warranty, too. Made in the USA!
