    Poor customer service!

I bought this heater yesterday but little heat is produced. Called Velocity and the young lady could only repeat that it is a supplemental heat source. It isn't supplemental if there is no heat. Trying to heat a 160 Sq ft room and can't get it to 60°!!

    Climate control is better

I’ve read so many reviews on this I was afraid to buy one. I ended up getting one on a deal so I wanted to let others know vornado must have updated the climate feature. All the reviews I’ve read complained about it turning off and on every minute or 2. Well here’s how mine works, it will run on high until the temperature is reached then the fan/heat slow down, I assume it’s going to low heat at that time. It continues to run until it reaches about 3 to 4 degrees above the set temperature which in my case never happens until the furnace runs a cycle or the sun comes out and warms the room. Basically in my case it’s keeping the room right at the set temp by getting there on high then self adjusting to low to keep the temp stable, if the temp drops below set temp it will go back to high heat. I think it’s awesome being you have a steady set temp at all times. So it never really shuts off until the room is warmed up by the furnace in my case being I have mine in a large living room/kitchen. It will achieve the set temp very quickly in my case and I’m in a 400 plus square ft area with open hallways at each end. If you were in a bedroom it would probably get to 4 degrees above your set temp then shut down I assume. I hope this helps anyone on the fence with climate control. I absolutely love it.

Inferior to the AVH10 and TAVH10

This Vornado while newer is much inferior to the TAVH10 and AVH10. I thought I'd try out this new model, but it is much louder and you have to set the temperature much higher than anticipated to get equivalent results to the older models. It was a disappointment a I had high hope and I love the other two products.

    Hot!

Vornado does an excellent job. Everything works likes it says it does. Quiet, adjusts to temperature, intuitive. It's even nice looking.

    Heats well, and LOUDLY!

I am admittedly a Vornado loyalist, and this was the latest addition to my collection. I have been fond of Vornado heaters on the past because they heat effectively while not being so loud. This little box works dreamily at heating up a pretty big open-concept home with vaulted ceilings, but it is so loud I can’t hear over it. I assume it has to do with the box casing, but I am about to return this unfortunately, in hopes that a different model might be quieter. Here’s hoping. My other qualm with this one is the cord. I am accustomed to the usual cords on Vornados. This one feels cheap and has no malleability to it, so it unplugs with the slightest nudge of the cord. Considering this is meant to be a higher end heater, I expected much more.

After A Year, I Will Get Something Else

I have used this heater for over a year. While it is okay, I am ultimately disappointed. Given the cost, I would choose a different Vornado and likely will. My complaints are as follows: poor temperature sensing and auto on/off, noise, and interface. The biggest drag with this is how poorly it manages on/off functions. You set a temperature and it turns on. It keeps going well above that temperature, which is potentially fine. It stops, then a few seconds later, it starts again. It continually cycles around this way, which is somewhat strange and unpleasant. This is made more annoying by my next point: the noise. I have a Vornado fan. It is awesome. It has a continuously adjustable fan speed and it is quiet and smooth. This heater is quite loud and has a bit of a rattle. It is enough to be somewhat distracting. Couple this its deeply annoying cycling of turning on and turning off and the thing is not pleasant to have in the room. The interface on this is also not great. The controls do not always respond to touch and the unit insists upon spinning up for 20 seconds when you turn it off. It will do this even if it has not been running for some time. It is not awesome. All these things sum to a less than pleasant experience. While not shockingly expensive, it is not cheap and should be better for the money. Okay, what did I like? It looks nice and is not very large. It does manage to heat the room and does so with reasonable efficiency. It does not smell funny when running and has been reliable. I am going to look into another Vornado heater that is a bit larger and more conventional. Hopefully, it will be quieter.

Same issue with overheating and frequent on/off

We use this for supplemental heat in a smaller bedroom. It heats quickly, but as others have pointed out, it heats well beyond the set point and annoyingly cycles off/on too frequently. It would make more sense to heat to X above set point turn off and then start heating again at X(or Y) below set point, with reasonable choice of X.

why have a thermostat if it doesnt work set for 70 keeps running at 74

I bought this because of the thermostat little did I know that the thermostat doesnt work. I have my heater set at 70 but its still pushing out heat at 73. Three degrees is a lot to be off by, I expected if I set at 70 once room hit 70 it would shut off. I guess the jooks on me for trusting vornado
