Stem is thick and ugly on today's version

I purchsed some of these glasses a long time ago. Then recently i puchased a set of two from Macys. The stem on tbe new glasses is much thicker than the stem on the older flutes. The thick stem renders these glasses " NOTHING SPECIAL" and certainly not worth $100+ per set. Yes the older flutes are delicate and need to be handled with care, but that is to be expected with fine glassware. People that don't understand this should purchase something else and Waterford should not have changed the Elegance flute.
