beautiful timeless set
what a gorgeous pattern that doesn't fade in style with time. I first got this pattern in 2000, and it's still current. The only shame is that it's no longer made in England like my original set. still, with 12 sets, they're all consistently high quality. thank you.
Timeless
I began my collection of this setting in 2000. I absolutely love it. I don't use it daily, but whenever we have company over I use it, so it has been used heavily (including by children) and I don't have so much as a chip on anything. It is a simple and elegant pattern so I have not had a need or desire to change to another since my original purchase.
Perfect
Believe it or not- my husband picked out this pattern. It has turned out to be absolutely ideal. I had considered a more ornate pattern, but this one was his favorite and my 2nd favorite, so we went with it. The pieces are elegant an classy and can be easily wardrobed with my mother's and grandmother's heirloom china that I have inherited as well as a number of modern pieces that I have amassed over the years. The dishes hold up well in the dishwasher as long as they're spaced out well (I did get one chip from being overly ambitious with loading the dishwasher). I am very happy with the look and the over all quality.
Terrible Quality
My husband and I registered for the Wedgwood "Signet Platinum" collection for our wedding. It was the only pattern that we both loved. When we recieved all of our place settings, they all had chips, knicks, and other quality related issues. We were super disappointed and ended up taking it all back to get the Waterford Padova pattern. This pattern is beautiful as well just not the one we wanted initiailly. Terribly dissapointed!
This set looks so beautiful on the table and in the china cabinet. I wish the set came with a butter dish. Otherwise its great and well priced for the quality.
It is an absolutely beautiful and classic set of china. I can't see ever needing to replace it, as another reviewer mentioned it will elegantly match anyting.
Fit for a Queen
I was admiring the Wedgwood Signet Platinum 5-piece set at the Macy's on Union Square in San Fran a year ago with a rather clumsy but amusing friend. Of course, it was perched at the very top display shelf, and my friend being taller than myself reaches for the teacup. In doing so, the bread plate slowly lost its grip on the salad plate and with a loud crash fell six feet onto an aluminium step stool. Naturally, every customer in the room froze then whipped their heads toward our direction. I could not look down afraid of the mess we had wrought. The kind shop clerk approached us, reached down and picked up a perfectly unblemished bread plate. Handing it to me, she calmly says, "it's bone china, dear. It's quite tough." Needless to say, I joined the china club that day, and now am proud owner of 12 sets including soup bowls--which were free with every set at the time. I keep four sets in my cupboard for daily use. My only reservation is that the platinum band meant that I could not use them in the microwave. But I'm happy to report that they're perfectly safe in the dishwasher! And did I mention how elegantly classic they look?
Fabulously Versatile
The thin platinum bands of this pattern are gorgeous whether set on a formal dinner table or a casual brunch buffet. Adding more ornate pieces can dress it up, but I prefer the simplicity of all white which allows the food to be the star. I also like the shapes of each serving piece because, although they are simple, they do not have the modern look of many white chinas.
