NOT the quality I would expect from Macy’s

I don’t typically write reviews and have never written a bad one, but feel compelled to provide feedback on this dresser for those who are considering purchase. First of all, it’s incredibly tedious to assemble with 100+ screws, 36 nails (nails!?!), 100+ wooden dowels, and a tiny condiment packet-like pouch of glue. I’m ok with assembling furniture, but this design is really wonky. Instead of drawer gliders that operate smoothly, these drawers sit loosely within the frame and are kept kind of in place by wooden dowel pegs that you just plug in and hope they stay. Operating the drawers is wood on wood which, due to the loose fit, you have to be very deliberate in how you push in the drawers so they line up properly in the frame and aren’t askew or pushed in too far past the frame’s front panel. It is flimsy, has very thin veneer pulls, and wobbles like crazy. Definitely not the quality we’ve experienced with Macy’s furniture in the past. Extremely disappointed and will try to return.
