What Color is Your Parachute

In 1987 this book was a required read for one of my English classes - I not only read the book, I completed all the assigned tasks within the book and my class. This book changed my life - it gave me powerful insight into what I was good at, what I wanted to do - I moved from small town in Wyoming to Denver, Metro area. Started my staffing company, eventually selling it, starting a 2nd staffing company & a 3rd specialty staffing company and merged the two companies in 1999. My final staffing company was a unique boutique company which I founded/managed until 2016 when I merged with another company. That final staffing company was where I belonged - the convention, meeting, tradeshow and special event industry. I loved the business, it was long hours, hard work, ups/downs but ultimeately I knew I had finally landed where I belonged. What Color is Your Parachute was a major turning point in my life - I was 32 when I finally jumped out, took the risk and ended up on the path where I belonged. I truly believe that this book, being honest with who I was/am changed my life. I am now purchasing this book again, for my 25 year old daughter, as she is at a crossroads and feel pursuing her Neuro PhD, may not be her path - instead her passion of/for concerts, managing, people, travel is where she belong. I pray this book will change her life as well- for the better and leading her to the career path which will give her joy and happiness in a fulfilling career.
