From #1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn comes the story of Benedict Bridgerton, in the third of her beloved Regency-set novels featuring her charming, powerful Bridgerton family, now a series created by Shondaland for Netflix. BENEDICT'S STORY Sophie Beckett never dreamed she'd be able to sneak into Lady Bridgerton's famed masquerade ball or that "Prince Charming" would be waiting there for her! Though the daughter of an earl, Sophie has been relegated to the role of servant by her disdainful stepmother. But now, spinning in the strong arms of the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton, she feels like royalty. Alas, she knows all enchantments must end when the clock strikes midnight. Ever since that magical night, a radiant vision in silver has blinded Benedict to the attractions of any other except, perhaps, this alluring and oddly familiar beauty dressed in housemaid's garb whom he feels compelled to rescue from a most disagreeable situation. He has sworn to find and wed his mystery miss, but this breathtaking maid makes him weak with wanting her.

A fun Cinderella romance!

I liked Sophie and Benedict, both had more depth and genuine connection than I first expected from the insta love at the beginning. I’m coming to realize that this author has little regard for boundaries or consent in intimate moments. I disliked Sophie’s stolen kiss when Benedict was feverish. So unnecessary to the story and just plain not ok. Despite this, I enjoyed this book more than the first two and plan to continue with the series.

Cinderella retelling

This was a Cinderella retelling, and it was told so well. This is my favorite one so far. Well see if that changes once I get to Eloise's story. I can't wait to read hers!

Good read

I think this book gets a lot of hate but i really liked it. A lot of people don't like Benedict's behavior (which might be because people compare books and TV show Benedict) which i can sort of understand. However, I think a lot of people expect him to be as "modern" as he is in the show which is not the case. It's historical fiction so Benedict is not going to have such modern views. I didn't think his behavior was nearly as bad as people described and thought there was character development for him as well. Another reason this book gets a lot of hate is because it's like a Cinderella retelling. So what though? lots of books (especially romance books) have very similar story lines. I have only read a few of the Bridgerton books but so far this is my favorite. I found the book interesting and can't wait to see how they adapt it in the TV show.

The Bridgerton Cinderella Story

The story does take a Cinderella shape to it, but it has that Bridgerton flair we all love! Very steamy, as usual! It was a very good book.
