Shape allows more space on table

Very nice shades. Have them on petite porcelain lamps (which have been in the family for decades) and the oval shape of the shade allows the lamp to be positioned further back on small night stand. Mostly I lose lamp shades because dust/dirt destroys delicate shade fabric causing rips/tears. Hope these last 20 years; hope I do, too.

Springcrest™ Cream Oval Lamp Shade 6.5x8x9 (Spider)

The shade itself is pretty but it had a little tear in it that wasn't visible through the packing. I kept it because I was too lazy to go back to the store. CHECK CAREFULLY
