Before this opportunity, I didn’t even know smart toilets existed. I definitely didn’t expect to be writing a review about one or telling my friends how much I love it. But here we are, and I’m not even embarrassed about it anymore. There were a lot of jokes in the beginning, but the DeerValley DV-1S0019R has officially changed the bathroom game in our house. The funniest part is how my 6-year-old was completely against the upgrade at first. She was strangely attached to our old toilet and begged us not to replace it. But the second this one was installed and she got to try out all the features, she did a total 180. She thought it was the coolest thing ever and immediately told everyone she knows that we have a smart toilet. She tells everyone and highly recommends it. She could be the new face for smart toilets. I’ll admit, I was nervous. The whole idea felt so unfamiliar. When the toilet first arrived, I was intimidated just looking at it. This is especially true because my husband and I always seem to uncover past home DIY nightmares whenever we install anything. But surprisingly, the installation was extremely simple. It only took one trip to Lowe’s and about two hours to make the switch. We did grab a thicker wax ring because the one included was pretty small and didn’t seem durable enough for such a nice appliance. Even without plumbing experience, the install was straightforward and user friendly. When I first saw the toilet out of the box, I honestly thought it would look odd in our bathroom. I was worried it would stick out or look too modern. Instead, it blended beautifully and actually made the space look bigger. The only thing I lost was the basket I used to keep on top of the old tank. That’s such a minor trade off compared to what we gained. From the moment it was in place, the whole bathroom felt like a luxury hotel. The heated seat alone made me wonder how I ever lived without one. This is especially true first thing in the morning or during late-night bathroom trips. It warms up fast and stays perfectly comfortable without getting too hot. The blackout auto flush and the foot kick sensor are some of my favorite features. It feels so hygienic and futuristic not having to touch anything unless I’m using the remote. The only downside is that my 50-pound 6-year-old isn’t big enough to trigger the sensor, so she just uses the blue kick button on the front. For adults, though, it works perfectly because you can just walk away and let it handle everything. The only risk is that now I might forget to flush a public toilet and embarrass myself. The overall design is sleek, modern, and low-profile. It genuinely looks gorgeous in the bathroom. Everything about it feels high-end and thoughtfully designed. I love the quiet slow-close lid—especially at night when I don’t want to wake anyone. The remote is mounted right above the toilet paper holder for easy access and has tons of options. I was nervous to try some of the features (especially the bidet functions) because I don’t know anyone personally who owns a smart toilet, but I’m glad I got over it. I highly recommend trying every setting before you draw your conclusion. The pre-flush before you sit helps keep the bowl cleaner, and the extreme flush power keeps the bottom spotless. The flush sound itself is loud and it reminds me of a camper toilet. I do find myself hoping it doesn’t wake the dog at night. That’s probably my least favorite part of the design. One other thing worth mentioning is that the lid doesn’t open or close automatically. Personally, this doesn’t bother me at all, but several guests have mentioned they expected that feature in a smart toilet. Even with those little quirks, I’m genuinely obsessed. It’s convenient, comfortable, easy to use, and makes everyday life feel a little more high-tech and pampered. If you’re thinking about upgrading, the DeerValley DV-1S0019R is absolutely worth it.

A few major issues with this.
I've had this for a few weeks and have found a few issues. 1. Water that is being flushed makes its way under the toilet seat and so you need to frequently wipe this. I didn't notice this at first and until there was a smell and discoloration that could be seen. So, I tested this by flushing the toilet after urinating and pushing the button that flips the toilet seat up. And there was a small "puddle" of urine on the front of the part of the toilet and some of that leaked to the floor. 2. The bidet water pressure is not the best. I've had other manual bidets that we've installed and even with the max settings on this toilet doesn't come close. 3. The bidet spout is also slightly to the left instead of centered which is a HUGE miss by Deer Valley. This means you have to shift your position for the water to hit the right areas. The positives are it looks beautiful, automatic lid opener, seat warmer, nice remote control, but these can be found with many other toilets. Overall, I would not recommend this toilet.

Highly recommend
This is an amazing toilet! Every feature is adjustable for absolute comfort, and the quality is exceptional. It was not difficult or terribly complicated to install, but I did get a plumber to do it because of the weight of the unit. It does take two people to lift it into place. It’s a super luxurious addition to any bathroom at a reasonable price.

Great bidet toilet
I love this toilet. It’s stylish and works perfectly. Good pressure and heat. The flush is fabulous and the auto lid functions make it a breeze. The dryer makes going hands free an option. I had a cheap seat version unit, this is the next level and I recommend it highly.

My wife lives this toilet. Preflight, might light, automatically opens lid and automatically flushed after standing up. Bidet. Front & back wash and massaging wash. Got the guys, lighted toe push button lifts up seat for #1. My only complaint was there isn't really sufficient room for the water filter which had to be installed upside down. Also, it was difficult to get my arm and hand in to install the anchor bolt wing-nuts. If it had not been a large bathroom, i would have had a difficult time doing the install. Otherwise. So far it is working great.
