Super long sleeping bag/blanket

Dimensions in the description are needed on the length of the sleeping bag/blanket. It's 100% cotton so I expect the length to shrink, at the most, an inch. However, there's about a foot of extra fabric at the bottom of my baby's feet. Lot's of room to grow, but how much extra fabric is too much?

True to size on chest and extra space on legs.

My little guy is 8 months, 28" and 22lbs. I bought him size 6-12 months and it fits perfect with room to wiggle. I was worried it would be fitted and outgrow it in a month but there's still room for length grow. Its still in good condition after a couple of washes.
