Wow. This book was a lot. It was very well done, very pleased with it. I will go over a lot more details in my spoiler section of the review. This was a great story about a redemption and finding yourself. Nesta was not great at the beginning but seeing her transform into who she becomes was great. Also, the spiciness of this book was awesome, details were amazing. Best sex scenes by far in the whole series. Spoilers ahead: Nesta: I get her. I have felt those feelings so strongly before, wanting to shut everyone out and save everyone from the pain that you feel. I am so happy with her redemption arch. Though at some moments it seemed to be a bit slow, and I wanted her to get to the point faster, I appreciate that she didn't change overnight. She is still changing and growing and becoming; that is perfect because we all are in some way. She has an incredible journey, and I am so happy to have seen a part of it. Cassian: That man can f*ck, holy crap. That males sex scenes were probably the best I have ever read. Nesta is a freak and so am I. I loved all of those moments and will probably go back to them if I am going to be honest. I think Cassian made a few mistakes with Nesta and how to approach her, but I could feel the love he has for her through the pages. He would rather die than have Nesta be harmed, and I applaud that. I am glad to see his growth through the book as well. The Valkyries: What a great friendship. I love them, seeing all of their broken pasts and they come together and conquer so much. The Blood Rite. I wish that Nesta would have made it up with them, it would have been perfect with that, a symbol of the three stars. But they are beautiful. I wish I had a friendship like theirs, someone or a small group that love each other so much and do everything together. Nesta brought all of these broken people together and made them have a purpose and helped them so much, which is so amazing. Feyre and Rhys: The OGs. They had a weird part to play in this that I didn't love. I think that Rhys being so protective of his mate and his babe that he kind of strayed from himself. I didn't like that he didn't tell Feyre about the risk, because she hates being lied to. It was literally the main point in ACOMAF, yet he did it again. It was kind of weird. They also never believed Cassian on the fact that Nesta was doing better. Like they just kind of dismissed her and Cassian which was not right. But I am happy for their baby. Amren: What happened. Cause like I cried at the end of ACOWAR because of her sacrifice. I loved her and this book she was not good at all. She was the reason most things went down between Nesta and the rest of the group. Yes, she tells it as it is, but she was wrong on how it was and instead of actually helping her and listening to her, she got spiteful and lashed out. Was not a fan. Overall, this story's big bad wasn't as big as the war Nesta raged inside, which I loved better. Getting to know the characters outside of just war and problems, but seeing their internal problems was wonderful. Defiantly a reread on my list. I can't wait to see what SJM has next in the ACOTAR series.

My favorite by far!
This is by far my favorite book of the series so far. Maas offered us a dual story that goes back and forth between Nesta and Cassian. It shows us their bond at the worst and builds from there with ups and downs like any relationship. There are for sure triggers here if you deal with depression, anxiety, self harm, hate, negative talk, abusive relationships, and alcoholism. If you are sensitive to any of these subject please use caution. Nesta is easily the character I can relate to the most on a personal level and her struggles with self and the world around her had me in tears a good amount of the time. While I know a lot of people do not enjoy her character, getting to see her grow and come to terms with the things that happened in the past whether she caused it, or it causes her pain is a huge character growth step. Her anger and rage at the world is finally seen as for its truth that she is unhappy with herself and that realization I feel is the turning point for her as she struggles along to better herself even when she doesn't want it. It is clear she is a caring person because as she comes into her clarity, even after her negative feelings toward Feyre, she still makes the right choice to help when it is needed. Cassian, ugh, he is so understanding even in the face of everything when I just want to slap Nesta for how she is treating him. He is definitely a bigger person than I think I would be in most of those situations. The spice and heat between Nesta and Cassian is very intense this whole book, but it has a bitter sweet feeling to is as Cassian tries to allow her the space she so needs to just start to love herself a little.

Nesta slander is not tolerated
For some reason this book is low key controversial- either you love it or you hate it. I absolutely LOVE it. It’s one of my favs in the series. I’ll be honest, I was not happy when I found of this book was from Nesta’s perspective and not Feyre’s like a lot of readers were. But omg this book, Nesta’s story was one that needed to be told and I’m so glad it was. This book was so heart wrenching and beautiful. Nesta’s story isn’t just Nesta’s story. It’s so many peoples story and I have no doubt that reading this book can help others feel seen and help them process their owns trauma on their way to healing. This book is for all the Nesta’s, Gwyns, Emeries, and the Valkyrie warriors out there. YOU ARE NOT ALONE Okay I have to stop now before I start crying. And also we get Cassian content and POVs so…

Did not like that it was in Nestas POV
To start off I LOVED the first 3.5 books of the ACOTAR series!! I read all of them within a week!! A court of wings and ruin was honestly the best book in my opinion I loved that one so much!! It kept me on my toes the whole time!! WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD! Now, from the very start I knew that I was not going to like this book! It was in Nestas and Cassians POV, which I am not saying is a bad thing, but they abandoned Feyre and Rhysand completely! I was so excited to read about what would happen in the next book since Feyre was ready for a baby. Then we dont even get any of that because it is about Nesta! Since she hates everyone, all the characters seemed like they were all really bad compared to when its in Feyres POV. Rhysand started doing and saying things that he would NEVER do in the first books! The fact that Feyre and Rhysand made a deal that if one of them died, so did the other was not something that I think that they would have done in the other books. They would have fought to protect each other, and not made such a rash decision. This book took so long to get to anything interesting that I found myself skipping through chapters just to get to the ending faster. This whole book was just about Cassian and Nesta doing stuff, then finally something interesting happened with her going through the blood rite, and then it was just over. This book felt like it was so rushed, and it could have been done so much better. I am happy that Cassian and Nesta ended up together, and that she is finally happy, but I think that if the author wants to do things in another persons POV then she should make it a Novella. So that way if you dont want to read it, you dont have to because you wont necessarily miss out on anything important. She also made Lucien such a hateful, unhappy character when yes he was angry in the other books, but he was not that horrible! The character development did not get far in this book, and I have to say that if she does more books in anyones but Feyres point of view, then I dont know if I will be able to continue this series!

one of the best series out there
I read the whole series, so of course I was excited to read the most recent in the ACOTAR series. I loved that it was in Nesta's point of view, and finally seeing her relationship with Cassian. I didn't think it was as good as the other books in this series, but it was still a very enjoyable read. I cannot wait for the next one!

Let down.
This was extremely disappointing. Feyre and Rhys were abandoned. SJM made some interesting character choices when it came to Rhys and now the fandom is split on whether to continue loving him or hate him. He pushed boundaries when it came to flirting with Elain. Azriel, who was protective of Feyre in ACOMAF and ACOWAR, questioned her authority in ACOSF. The characters that we all fell in love with were completely different in ACOSF. Continuation of stories is great, until you change the personality of every character. This book felt rushed. I'm hesitant to keep reading, because I worry it'll be another book about Feyre and Rhys dying or finding reasons to sever their bond for their new child. I don't know. I had a strong passion for this series for the first three books and novella and now it's just, eh. Hopefully she brings back the Feyre and Rhys we love and not the ones from ACOSF. Also, I wish Lucien would stop being a door stop. He was a strong character in the first two and now he's quiet and hates everyone. Ugh.
