ate, gobbled, and devoured.... 10/10

I bought this book 2 years ago for my summer reading project thinking it was going to be another drag in the rug, however, I was so wrong. All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir is amazing. Every chapter, every character, and every last word blew my mind away. At first I wasn't sure where this story was going, but after a few chapters I was locked in. I am not lying when I say that this book is one of a kind. It is so beautifully written in a way that I cannot explain. This book deserves so much more appreciation and recognition. Hands down the best book I've ever read.

Relatable and timely...

I truly adore a good YA novel every now and again, and this one was right up my alley since it dealt with immigrants to the US and their children. As I've grown older, I've realized what a unique perspective I have as a first-generation American. And it's stories like these that bring up those feelings of growing up and never quite feeling understood - always feeling like a bit of an outsider. Misbah reminded me so much of my mom, coming to the US, barely knowing the language, and yet working so hard to make a life for herself and her family with my Dad supporting her every step of the way. I saw myself in Noor, focused on getting to college to be able to start her own life and yet feeling the guilt of leaving. And Salahudin was so much like my brother, who always did right by my parents and made sure his decisions took into account their feelings - he always just "got it". Sabaa Tahir has crafted an incredibly relatable YA novel with complex characters and multidimensional issues that have readers pondering what they would do in the same situation. I was invested from the beginning and was so impressed by the depth and substance that Tahir brought to the table. This is not your average YA novel, but instead a timely, heartfelt story of making your way in a place where "home" may not always be the sanctuary it should be. I'm so grateful to BookSparks and Razorbill Books for this poignant novel.

Great Book!

Tragic. Heartbreaking. Tearjerker. Dreamer. These are all words I would use to describe this novel. All my Rage is a story of two Pakistani American women, Salahudin and Noor, and their journey through life. They embark on a journey of societal prejudices, loss, family standards, trauma, and more. The story takes place in a desert town called Juniper, California where these two best friends are closer then ever while trying to escape the small town in which they reside. They deeply understand each other and can be seen as family in the novel. In Pakistan, Misabah marries Toufiq and in hopes to create a new life they move to the United States. In order to create the perfect American dream, they buy the Cloud’s Rest Inn motel. Throughout the novel, the characters are faced with issues they have to perservere through. While some find there voice as a way to succed through the difficult times, others turn to alcohol and anger. The Fight is a major turn of events that changes the forever storyline of what is going to happen. It is a brilliant way the author created the climax and plot to unfold. You will have to read in order to find out just what lies ahead. This novel was well-written and the specifc inspirational yet formal diction that the author used really helped to elevate the storyline. Although the main characters made unfortunate decsions throughout the novel, the author was able to portaty these characters in a likeable way. This is fascinating. This is a powerful story and causes readers to step into lives they would have never once known. It is a must-read!

An award-winning YA Realistic Fiction

All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir is modern realistic fiction about two high school students, Noor & Salhudin, both young immigrants from Pakistan who are dealt really difficult cards in life and are forced to quiet extremes as their worlds crumble around them. This is an incredibly emotional story and is a far cry from Tahir's fantasy series that I loved so much but is just as masterfully written. I couldn't help but feel these characters' rage. CONTENT WARNINGS: xenophobia & microaggression, domestic abuse & violence, sexual assault (against a child but not described), drug use, illness & death, and more. All My Rage was a 2022 National Book Award Winner

Very sad and very moving

This was such a good book! It was very sad at times and even made me cry! I thought it was cool how the book showed the “then” part set in Pakistan and the “now” part set in present day Juniper, California. I was defiantly rooting for Sal and Noor the whole time. I liked the part about the motel and how Sal wanted to save it to honor his mother. My favorite character was Noor. I loved how she never gave up on Sal, even when he was going through some really tough things. I liked Sal and Noor’s relationship. There were interesting and well written side characters as well. All in all, the whole book felt very well written and well composed. I would definitely recommend this book. However, I would warn that it is a very heavy read at times and to not read if you don’t think you are in the space to handle that. I also loved how this book shared and showed lots of cultural things.
