Comforting and Emotional

I loved the book, it was sad and happy and made me feel grateful for the life I have. I have based my life on a lot of their spontaneous experiences and it makes me happy. I loved the book and it will forever be in my heart.

This books was so good!

It was definitely an emotional read that makes you question your life and how you operate. But it’s also an emotional love story between the two characters that really tugs at your heartstrings!

One of my favorites

My sister gave me this book to read for the summer because she said it was one of her favorites. At first, I didn't want to read it because the summary on the back made it sound boring, but as I started it I couldn't stop. I read it every night before I went to sleep. This book has a fantastic plot and the characters are very clever. Even though it has a somewhat tragic ending, I would still recommend it to others.

I am broken, but I am healing.

I bought this book with pretty high expectations and let me just say they were met. Everything was so realistic to how teenagers actually act and I love the way it just blew realities in front of your face. I quite literally broke down several times trying to read the last chapters and let me just say that page 319 broke my heart into a million pieces. I marked well over 20 pages in this book because of how many lines and moments I wanted it remember. I think the one that hit the hardest was on page 353. “I’ll never forgive you for leaving me. I just wish you could forgive me. You saved my life. And, finally, I simply write: Why couldn’t I save yours?” Personally, Theo’s family could have done way more for him. I feel for his mother, but could you not read the signs? If you’re too preoccupied with your own issues to see your own child’s after a long period of time, I will not consider you a good parent. I’m iffy about Kate, but his father can burn and rot in hell. You have no idea how much the parents infuriated me. Theo deserved better, and thankfully he had better. I think although Theo’s death broke me on the inside and out, it was eye-opening. Sometimes, stories do not have happy endings whether you like it or not. I’m just glad that our dear Theodore Finch finally got his perfect day. Although he’s not real, I will always remember his chapter’s last sentence as his dying words. “I remember her hand in mine and how it felt, as if something and someone belonged to me.” Violet is a strong character and as someone who puts herself in characters’ shoes, all I could think was, “What could I have done instead?” I am well aware that this is fiction, but I can’t help but think about what she’s feeling. When she was finding Finch’s little marks on this big world, I started breaking down again. I can’t imagine how strong you’d have to be to not cry every time you see something your loved one left for you to find. I also loved the way he changed some aspects of her mindset. It feels bittersweet, but I loved that detail. Truly a 5 ☆ book. The amount of emotions I felt in this book make me wish I could read this book for the first time again. I love this book and I think it will always remain in my Top 10 Favorite Books. Would highly recommend to anybody who wants to cry their eyes out, although I can’t guarantee anything.

All The Bright Places Puts You in the Right Places

This book made me go on a roller coaster of emotions. Picking up this book and reading the title, I was expecting a light and heart-warming love story, but boy was I wrong. Jennifer Niven and her book All The Bright Places made me look at people through a new lens and realize you never know what people are going through unless you get to know them. I also learned how the relationships you build can sometimes save people. I loved how this book was able to maintain a love story while also combining significant issues today, such as mental illness. Theodore Finch, this boy who is known as a freak meets Violet Markey, this girl who is top of her class, at the top of a ledge. I absolutely treasure the relationship they had and the experiences they went through together throughout the book. Jennifer Niven was able to create such relatable characters, that sometimes I would have to pause, take a breath, and move to the next page because I was so scared of what was going to happen. Niven is an international bestselling author and honestly, I can tell why. I was so dazed after reading one of her books, Holding Up The Universe, I knew I would become obsessed with this author and I had to pick up another. This book was such a good and quick read and I was so disappointed when I turned to the last page, signaling that it was over. Not only was the book extremely entertaining, but I was able to gain knowledge about certain topics that I haven’t learned before. As I mentioned previously, this book was mostly centered around mental health and suicide, a topic that I know so little about. I was able to place myself in their positions and picture what I would do if this happened to me and I was faced with someone potentially contemplating suicide. As a whole, this book is now probably one of my favorite books because I was able to hear these characters' stories and their voices, as well as] what they went through. Looking back, this book was a combination of love, hope, and trauma that ended with me shedding a tear by the end of it. One of the quotes that really stood out to me was “You are all the colors in one, at full brightness.” I definitely recommend this book to anyone who’s looking to just sit and smile at the end.

Tragically Beautiful

So I received this as a "Bonus" book while attending a Random House open house back in 5/2015. I was always intrigued by the post it's on the cover and synopsis of the book but never got around to reading it until now. I didn't know initially that it is a YA book which I read occasionally. Thai book was absolutely a great read. A tragically beautiful poignant and heartbreaking love story, wonderful characters and lots of quotes that I loved. Oh and it was first published on 1/6/15, my Birthday. Some of the beautiful quotes: “The thing I realize is, that it's not what you take, it's what you leave.” “We do not remember days, we remember moments.” “The great thing about this life of ours is that you can be someone different to everybody.” “The problem with people is they forget that most of the time it's the small things that count.” "YOUR TURN"
