Nice.

A little long and a little narrow for my taste, but some people like that. An 11 C—my theoretical size—looks like a torpedo to my eyes, while a 10E fits great.. Not Allen Edmonds finest leather, but fine.

Love the 108 last

I own the Carlyle in a few different colors. The 108 last is a great fit for me. Every pair has had great construction and has been very comfortable.

Great fit

I believe it will be an excellent shoe with very little break in time. All width available.

All aspects excellent but attention sole.

Very well-made and comfortable shoe. Meets the highest standards of dressing us for occasions up to an including formal. The sole is hard leather and is slippery. I suggest considering a change to the sole surface either in material or finishing so that it is not so slick.

Exceeds Expectations

Could not be happier with these shoes. Bought both the black and chili brown- fantastic. Very comfortable. True to size.

Narrow Fit

The shoe looks good. I have many Allen Edmonds shoes with a wide width EEEE. This was only offered in EEE; it is too narrow and hence uncomfortable. EEE shoe width is narrower than the EEEE width.

I bought these on sale, using a $20 coupon combined with a 15% off coupon for a previous review. I already had the black Carlyle on my wanted list, so when the sale popped up I purchased them. The 11D fits me well, they need some breaking in, but I have several other AE shoes and I love how they get more comfortable as they break in. This is my only pair of black shoes, other than my Ritz pumps, and they look great with grey and tan pants. I’m sure there are several looks that will work with these shoes. Even though have I formal shoes for black tie, these would also work excellently. Construction is lovely, like all AE they are sturdy and solid, very suitable to American sensibilities. I look forward to pairing them with a flannel suit this winter.
