An Inspirational Story For Young Readers

I love these books in the Little People, BIG DREAMS series, so when I saw this one, I knew I wanted to read it. With simple, wonderful illustrations, this is aimed at Preschoolers and young readers up to Grade 2. This covers the early years of Amanda Gorman’s life, her love of reading, which included everything ’from books to cereal boxes.’ Her love of reading influenced her to keep a diary, and listening to her teacher read poetry to their class led to her love of poetry, which eventually led to her becoming a poet. This also shares that Amanda had a speech impediment that required practice, but she was determined to view it as a gift, something to give her more incentive to fulfill her dream. Fortunately, as most of us are aware, her determination eventually led to her following in the footsteps of Maya Angelou, after Joe Biden requested her to read her poem at the swearing-in ceremony where he was sworn in as President. An inspirational story for young readers. Many thanks for the ARC provided by Quarto Group / Frances Lincoln Children's Books
