Not velvet
These are really not velvet. They are a stiff brushed twill. I sent them back
Nice but...
These curtains are very nice, but I wouldn't call them velvet. To me, they are more of a brushed twill. They are truly blackout and thermal. Although they are not velvet as I expected I still really like them and decided to keep them. Ive had them hanging for over a month and tried to stem them with a regular iron but they still look wrinkled. I'm going to attempt to steam them with an actual steamer and hopefully it works. I still like them.

Skimpy
Lacks fullness, when closed looks just like a blanket hung over window
Perfect Pit For Windows
Sturdy and perfect fit in size and width for the window. Easy to mantle over window and definitely a winter accessory.

Color?
Not the color we researched. Will need to return. Nice material however. They will need to be ironed if you purchase these drapes.
Not Rust
These curtains are beautiful fabric, thick and plush, but they are NOT rust colored. I would call them salmon. Definitely more peach colored, returning unfortunately.
Thick soft and heavy
Very thick and oh, so soft. I can't wait to hang them but will have to wait until my new steamer arrives. I was unable to iron out the wrinkles.
Great Curtains Once You Have Them Dry Cleaned
It seemed like virtually every review I saw of these curtains came from a website that compensated people for their reviews. I actually purchased these curtains and installed them in my bedroom. They are lovely, however, when you first unpack them they look terrible. The material is strange and not really velvety. They also look very wrinkled. Nonetheless, I took them to my dry cleaner who cleaned and pressed them and WOW! They look great! I asked my cleaner what would happen if you were to wash these (as the label states they are machine washable) and he informed me, due to the type of material the curtains are made from, they would bunch together and crinkle up. These are true black out curtains, they aren't the heaviest, but they do a great job of blocking out light. Amazing purchase if you can get them on sale.
