Too snug on arms and legs

I was so excited to put my son in this since the design is adorable! However, when I did I could barely get it over his arms and legs. It fit his body but was way too tight on his arms and legs so sadly we can't use it and I already washed it not thinking this would be an issue so now I can't return it .. very disappointed. For reference, he is 14 months and I bought the 12-18 month .. no reason why it shouldn't have fit him.. he has no issues with any other brand.
