Listen to care instructions

Apparently the tag about hand/spot washing was very accurate. My dog had a not so solid accident on it, not urine, which I cleaned as best I could but threw it in the wash not thinking about the fluffy part of the rug.... When done washing I spent a vast amount of time removing wet fur globs from the washer sides. I understand it’s “my bad” for not reading the instructions, but why make a product that gets dirty every day that can’t be thrown in a normal washer that everyone has? I love the rug and have ordered a new one. But will not wash again in the washer.
