Excellent made to move......

Fashionista #165..... My daughter is so thrilled with this doll. Although the hair isn’t as wavy as advertised it is very clean and has a nice thickness. All her joints are smooth and move as they should. Her outfit and fanny pack are all made nicely With care, the lemon fanny pack has great detail down to the zippers............The only issue we notice is with her pixelated lips/face paint. We have the same issue with our Barbie Extra #3. Is this how they are supposed to be made these days?

Fun to play with

We got this Barbie a couple of weeks ago and it's been a bit in our house. Initially the children were impressed with how stylish Barbie looked. It was great to see a Barbie in a realistic looking wheelchair, which moved in an authentic way. It led to lots of positive discussions about disability and why people may need to use a wheelchair. The quality of the Barbie was great. She has strong and flexible joints at the knees and elbows which makes moving her about very easy. The wheelchair is light but robust and has brakes to stop it rolling away during play. My only complaint is that her fabulous hooped earrings get a bit caught up in her hair and need to be untangled from time to time, but this is only a small niggle really.

Almost emotional , amazing to educate with.

I received this as part of the Play , Rate & Review scheme. And honestly when we received it , it was such a shock. As a disabled mother this is something I resonated with deeply , and I must mention if I had something like this when I was younger I may have been able to come to terms with my disability earlier on in life. It was actually amazing that there was no physical impairments with the Barbie , yet she was a wheelchair user (the same as myself ) My children absolutely love playing with this toy and my youngest who is 2 easily made the connection to my own wheelchair. It’s lovely to see disabilities being shown as normality. Thank you Mattel. From my family to yours. You have broken boundaries.

Wonderfully inclusive!

I was sent this product to review. I love how the barbie range has expanded to be more inclusive of all people. It is well made and the barbie itself has more movement in the legs and knees. The wheelchair has working breaks and is fairly sturdy even. A criticism would be the bit that holds barbies waist in the chair isn’t very supportive so when using the supplied ramp barbie does fall out. I think it’s a great item that allows children to be inquisitive and also those in wheelchairs to feel like they are included and valued equal.

Looks real

I love that the wheel chair was not only fully functional but also fit to scale. My daughter is very aware of disabilities and is all about inclusion. She loves having other barbies push the wheel chair and pretending her doll is paralyzed.

Love this inclusive doll!

At 5 years old, my daughter is naturally curious when she sees someone different from herself. She has begged for a Barbie doll like this after seeing a child her age in a wheelchair. Her eyes lit up when she saw this! She loves that there are dolls of all shapes, sizes, and types. We are thrilled Mattel makes these inclusive dolls! And of course, the Mattel quality is on point!

Top heavy.

The doll and wheelchair often flip over backwards while playing with it. My daughter enjoys it though. One suggestion I would make, is to include/make a story explaining how/why the doll is in the wheelchair. May team up with an organization promoting acceptance of people in wheelchairs and other handicapped people.

Amazing Inclusivity

What an amazing addition to the Barbie line. It toys like this that show girls how we are all beautifully different. My daughter enjoys playing with this Barbie and especially likes how movable/jointed this Barbie is.
