Thrilling

This book was amazing from beginning to end. If I had the time I would’ve read the book within one day. It is so well written and keeps you engaged consistently. I was disappointed and excited once I realized that there would be a part two.

Obsessed !

I honestly couldn’t put the book down, i literally devoured it. I read it on iBooks then immediately went to buy from B&N. I feel like some people are complaining about the flow of the book or Kidan but it was clear from the world building that there is more to the story and we would be getting more than one book. Plus I’m happy to see a black main character who is allowed to be chaotic and morally gray, it’ll make the development of the character so much better.

A Captivating and Unique Take on Vampires

I absolutely loved Immortal Dark! It offers a fresh and unique take on vampires, especially in how they create others of their kind. The world-building was phenomenal, drawing me in from the very first page and keeping me immersed until the end. A truly captivating read!

Did too much yet gave so little

I enjoyed the dark academia fantasy setting, the world building, and the characters. This take on vampires was very different to me. It was traditional yet modern at the same time. The enemies to lovers was a lot of fun. As for Kidan, I love how sassy and unhinged she was. However, I was pretty confused and didn't connect with it. This is mainly because of the writing style and the fact that it was all over the place. I felt it was doing too much yet giving so little. This book took me FOREVER to get through. This is the dilemma when I stop enjoying something I thought I was going to absolutely love. Overall, it was okay. I wish I would've loved it as much as I thought I was.

I didn't like it

This book is so pretty, but I got bored a few times reading it. The world building is great and I really liked the Uxlay university setting, but almost all of the characters are "morally gray" (or just homicidal). Things did happen in the book, but it still felt like there wasn't much action. I just found myself wanting more from the story. This is book 1 of a trilogy and I won't be getting the next two.

I'm ready for book 2

Tigest Girma's vampires are dark, but what elevates this book from a good vampire novel to a masterpiece is that her humans are even darker. The book also features unique and admirable world building. Maybe it's just me but I'm one of the last scenes, at the companion ceremony, I got a dark Harry Potter vibe, but I actually enjoyed that foil too. No direct cliff hanger here but the story is definitely set to continue. I'll definitely be pulling up a chair for book 2 when it's released.
