This book was incredible, my mind was completely blown when i learned Dawn and Hannah were the same person. When she confessed to killing Ella it was a twist. While reading the book you go base on the events has the main character is either doing it or going through the character’s view to thinking Hannah could have been Isaac sister at first. When learning his sister name you think maybe Hannah is another girl who was also bullied by these little monsters to the realize Dawn and Hannah are the same person. Cindy did an excellent job to bring both stories together.

I inhaled this book!
It's the type of page-turning thriller that will have you staying up too late to find out what happens. I loved the unflinching look at mean girl culture in high school and bullying--the author captured those feelings so well, I was flashing back to my own teenage trauma (in a good way.) In these suspenseful dramatic pages, there are also a lot of themes about friendship, revenge, self-acceptance and moving on, but it never feels bogged down or heavy handed. Overall, Cindy R.X. He is a master of suspense and twists, and this is a must read thriller!!!

Great YA Mystery
Actual Rating 3.5 Dawn is new at Sierton High and soon finds herself drawn into the cheerleader clique, which is ruled by Ella Moore the most popular girl at school. Dawn soon attends a party thrown by the popular kids, and by the next morning she receives the news that Ella is dead. While she’s certain it must have been an accident, she and the other attendees soon find themselves suspects in the case. Dawn isn’t willing to sit back, though, and starts her own investigation to try and clear her name. But everyone seems to be lying about something, and the truth may just cost someone their life. The characters overall were well written. Despite being set in a high school with cheerleaders, they mostly didn’t feel too cliched. And though some of them fell into familiar tropes, they still felt alive and unique enough to make them interesting. One of the things I actually enjoyed about this one was the protagonist trying to solve who the murderer was rather than simply leaving it to the police. Reasonable motivation was provided for this, and it wasn’t the typical “the police are more incompetent than a teenager” excuse that is often used. The plot was also really well done, with the story told from dual POVs and timelines and coming together in a surprising and fascinating way. The ending was certainly OTT, but I enjoyed the ride so didn’t really mind. This one is very YA and over the top, so keep that in mind before reading. If you’re interested in a YA mystery that’s entertaining and easy to read, then you should check this one out. My thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire for allowing me to read this work. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own. **Check for TW

A wonderful debut by Cindy R. X. He.
Perfect Little Monsters is one of those books that manages to be incredibly intriguing even before the reader's eyes fall on the opening line. The title, the cover, and the premise all promise a story that will keep the reader on the edge of their seat. Cindy R. X. He's debut, at its core, is a classic whodunit story. A murder occurs, and we are presented with a list of suspects, each with their own motive. This is where Perfect Little Monsters departs from the realm of the familiar and takes the reader on a thrilling journey that becomes more complicated with each page. I was genuinely struggling to predict what would happen next because, after being blindsided by the plot a couple of times—in a good way—I simply had to admit defeat and allow myself to drift with the narrative until I reached the last page. Not many stories can keep me guessing until the very end, so kudos to the author for pulling this off. One thing I feel like I have to acknowledge is the way Cindy R. X. He tackles heavy and complex topics in this book, such as mental health, self-harm, and bullying. I appreciate how she didn’t shy away from these topics and decided to commit to them, giving them the respect and care they deserve. This also goes hand in hand with how three-dimensional the characters are. I don’t think the portrayal of such heavy topics would’ve been possible, or done justice, if the characters didn’t feel as real as they did. Overall, Perfect Little Monsters is a wonderful debut by Cindy R. X. He. It’s a tale that will gladly challenge you to outsmart it because it knows that it will keep you guessing.

Hooked!
This one hooked me! Dawn just transferred to a new school. She’s still struggling from the accident that impacted her and ruined her parent’s lives. She decides to try out for cheerleading, she was one in the past. She meets Ella, Naomi, and Lucy who lead the school and the cheerleaders. While clearly not very nice, they include her in the group when she makes the team. She attends a party at Ella’s and the next morning the cops show up at her house. Someone is dead and Dawn is a suspect along with the others whose were they last at the party. Meanwhile 3 years earlier Hannah also tries out to be a cheerleader. She also meets the same three girls only she doesn’t receive the same welcoming as Dawn. As someone who, has no friends and doesn’t exactly have the look of a cheerleader, Hannah gets bullied. Will she make it through or will it be enough to push her over the edge? And back in the current time Dawn won’t rest till she clears her name as well of the name of the boy who she’s falling for, who also has a very good reason to have committed murder, his sister was also bullied buy the same 3 girls. As she uncovers secrets of these popular girls she’ll discover just about everyone had a reason to commit murder. Can she solve it before someone goes down for the crime? Can she save the guy she’s falling for? And what connects Dawn’s situation to Hannah’s? So intriguing and keeps you enthralled! Does discuss difficult topics like bullying and suicide so be careful going in. Cindy R.X. He will keep you guessing and needing to know all their secrets! Another mystery that had me rooting for the darker side!!

THE High School Thriller
He’s debut is everything you could dream; shocking, thrilling, and at times downright stomach-churning. This novel puts the importance of “anti-bullying” initiatives into an extreme but very emotionally real context. Can’t wait to see what He cooks up next.

Incredible, twisty, important book
Oh my goodness, what a dark, twisty, incredible book! This one will speak to anyone who’s dealt with bullying and who loves a good mean girl story. It's a book with an incredibly important message that conveys it in a way that isn't at all preachy. And the ending has one of the most shocking twists I've ever read! 5 stars!
