A must read!

Wow, just wow. I am a first-time reader of [author:Ali Brady|21834049], and I was blown away. [book:Until Next Summer|199373689] takes you on a journey of self-discovery, belonging, connection, community, and relationships. Jessie and Hillary were best friends who looked forward to summers together at Camp Chickawah. A rift between Jessie and Hillary keeps them apart for ten years, that is until Jessie finds out the Valentines are selling the property. Jessie organizes one last summer with an “adult camp”. Previous campers come back, including Hillary, to relive the good ole' days. There are many things I loved about this book: the beautiful story telling around what camp should be for kids and the hard work that goes into providing a safe and fun environment. The sense of community, traditions, and “being camp people”. The female friendships, empowerment, and breaking away from labels, gender roles, and expectations that keep you from being your true authentic self. The character growth. But the thing I loved the most about this story, is how the characters show the beauty of healing in safe spaces. You will laugh, cry, and have all the feels. And the Bib reference #iykyk

All the summer feels!

Old besties Jessie and Hillary reunite after years apart as Camp Chickawah, the place they met and bonded at is about to be sold and close for good. They mend fences over wonderful memories and unite to save the camp, each finding romance with past campers, Luke, the broody author, and Cooper the camp chef. Until Next Summer was full of nostalgia, looking back at the good times of summer, even if you didn’t do camp as a youngster. The story makes me remember summer vacations by the lake, swimming, boating, campfires, smores, and fun getting away from it all! I enjoyed both Jessie and Hillary’s journey back to friends and sorting out their lives along the way! This is the perfect feel-good, summer read! I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy courtesy of the publisher. My thoughts and opinions are my own.

A Fantastic Beach Read Filled With Humor, Friends

Camp Chickawah has been Jessie’s refuge for two decades, first as a camper and eventually as the director. The news the camp is being sold devastates her. Author Ali Brady delivers a heart-tugging tale in Until Next Summer. The title perfectly fits with the story, representing the phrase campers use when leaving at the end of the summer, indicating the adventures will continue. The setting delivers a nostalgic look at summer camp and childhood memories of team-building activities, campfires, and a feeling of freedom. To cope with the impending sale, Jessie invites past campers for an adult camp. Reunited with her teen best friend, Hillary, the two revisit the glories of camp. Along the way, they each discover unexpected sources of romance. Structured with a dual point of view, the story effectively develops the four main characters, each of whom is drawn to the camp for different reasons. Together, they illustrate the value of second chances in a wonderfully engaging way. Until Next Summer provides all the ingredients for a fantastic beach read filled with humor, friendship, and romance. ~ Amy for Novels Alive
