Base Layer or Just PJ’s?

I purchased “longjohns” for grandson’s ski trip, but tags say pajamas. Perplexing and not sure I will keep! They are soft to the touch and make no mention of “moisture wicking” on any of the tags. These would make cute pj’s, but not what I wanted. I’m not sure if I will keep or not.
