Not what I expected

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I purchased this unit because it's advertised as a "Carpet & Upholstery Deep Cleaner". In my opinion, clean means to wash something so it's clean. To vacuum something picks up loose dirt so it removes that dirt, however vacuuming does not clean stains, ergo to remove stains you must clean/shampoo. While it does a fair job as a vacuum, the carpet cleaning function leaves a lot to be desired. When using the cleaning/shampoo option, the brushes frequently get clogged up and it takes time to use the tool they provide to remove the dirt/hair that accumulates in the brush head. Also, I was not able to use the "clean/shampoo" function for my upholstery nor my stairs - the attachments merely function as a vacuum only. So much for the "Upholstery Deep Clean" wording on the box. For the money I spent on this unit, I would have been better off hiring a carpet cleaning company to come in and do my carpets and stairs.

This model isn't designed for dry vacuuming. We recommend vacuuming thoroughly prior to deep cleaning. The machine will lift deep down dirt, hair and debris from carpet. We're happy to help resolve any issues you're having at support.bissell.com.

I love it

Its great!! Not hard to use and after 5 years im just now needing a belt...I hope! They aren't broken but the brushes don't turn and it has no suction.

Saved our carpets

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My wife's 3 year old siberian husky decided tonight he wanted to redo our carpets - he took a stroll through a paint roller tray full of white paint (for an unrelated makeover) and proceeded to run at top speed across every carpeted surface in our house. Total disaster was averted when we plugged in our ProHeat 2X Revolution carpet cleaner, and to our amazement all the paint came up and not a trace was left. Thank you Bissell; if you ever get into pet grooming I've got a husky with painted white paws I'll lend you for R & D.

Belt breaks

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought it to use for cleaning my carpets in the livingroom. Although it is powerful I noticed the rotating brushes would get stuck when going through the carpet which led to the belt breaking..this was on my first day using it

Yes, I'd buy this again.

The first time I used this carpet cleaner I could see the cleaning solution being sucked up nicely. However, after going over the cleaned area, I noticed that the sound changed to a high pitch and I didn't see the dirty solution being sucked up. Tried again and found out that if the dirty water reaches a certain level in the dirty water container, the high pitched sound started again. My engineer husband checked it out and found that the float valve shut off the suction when the container was half filled with dirty water. Emptied the waste water and finished the job perfectly.

Carpet cleaner

It serves it purpose and cleans well, but when you have to take the container out with the dirty water the water spills everywhere, so I have to take the whole machine outside every time I need to change the water. Also it runs out of water sooo fast, to clean one large area rug, I had to. Change the water 10 times it was so aggravating.

Stick With A Pro?

I am a neat freak. I had to take apart the belt and everything else I could after the first use just to get all of my pet's hair out of the machine. I couldn't stand it I had to do it. Be sure to use the correct cleaner in this machine and don't make the same mistake I did. I used a Bissell cleaner that I already had and soaped my carpet down, had to rent a carpet cleaner just to try and get the soap out of the carpet. That truly didn't work well. Now when you walk over it, you can feel something strange on your feet if you stand there long enough. You feel you have to wipe your feet off. Hopefully on the next run I can use it better.
