We love this spark screen,

We love this spark screen, looks very nice on our propane gas fire pit. Since it is propane gas, I was not worried about sparks, but worried that something flying in the wind (like small branches, since we have a lot of trees) which could have hit or land on the delicate burners and damage them. Beautiful. See attached picture.

Just what I needed

Steel Mesh Fire Pit Spark Screen - handle is not useful

The screen acts as advertised to be sure -- however, the mesh is weak, and tends to heat up when you have a nice blaze in the firepit. The heated mesh warps and then splits, which is a problem. However, that aside, the real issue is that the handle on the top of the cover lies flat, making removing the cover to add more wood a real problem. I don't know of a screen mesh cover that has a fixed handle -- but that would be really handy.

Almost perfect

If only someone had thought to weld the cover handle so that it does not fold down. Very difficult to lift when you have a fire going. Would also prefer a higher dome so we could pile more wood on the fire at once. Good sturdy construction. Heavier screening than the last one we bought.
