Coffee table top, not attached to base

I didn’t realize the coffee table would need to be assembled by the delivery men. I also didn’t realize that the top was not attached to the base so now whenever I need to move the table, the top becomes off centered from the base. This cost me over $1200. I am disappointed. If the top is supposed to be attached to the base, it would be nice if Macy’s could correct that. Or at least be clear about the design of the table when it is being purchased.
