So easy and great quality

Awesome machine and it is very easy to use. Has step by step instructions as well but after the first time making an espresso no need to follow the instructions anymore it’s that simple.

Good machine

Overall great coffee machine, however the grinding function seemed to have broken almost instantly. The vibration of the grind defaults the machine to always be set at courses, no matter how many times i reset.

Nice upgrade

Works great. We replaced an older Barista Express that had started leaking with this new Impress in blue. Only two minor complaints. The blue is pretty, but Breville chose to paint the strip across the front of the drip tray rather than leave it stainless. The stupid clear plastic cover falls off almost every time we use it and the blue paint was scratched on the first day. Eventually we’ll buy a replacement drip tray with the stainless strip. The other complaint is even more minor - compared to the Express, the addition of the tamp lever means they moved the power button from the left to the right side, where the “two cup” button is on the Express. For the first week, I turned the unit off every time I tried to make a double espresso.

Good but difficult

After returning the first Barista Express Impress that would not dose properly, the second machine works fine. However, the touch controls are so sensitive that mistakes are easy to make and you can waste lots of grounds. The instruction manual does not include a "Trouble shooting" section. Big error! I still have trouble when switching from the dual filter basket to the single. Overdose time! Very frustrating.

Our first Impress machine. Three Barista Express

This is the 4th Breville Barista Express the I have owned--the first Impress. I did have provlems with the last one so I decided to try the Impress. I really like the dosing setup that makes the brew process go much smoother. By the way, we use the espresso machine daily.

Express Impress

I am absolutely enjoying my machine. So glad that I pull the trigger on it because I was on the fence. It was so easy to set up. I now have a perfect cup of expresso every morning.
