Great kettle with one major flaw!

This is the second kettle I bought thinking the cracked lid issue would have been resolved but alas! The lid still cracked badly. I searched for a replacement part since there seem to be screws to remove it but I have not seen where I can get one. Please advise if there is a place to purchase the plastic part of the lid. I hesitate to buy another if this issue is not resolved. I love the wide mouth so I can get my hand in there to clean out the hard water scaling! Otherwise it is a great product!

Plastic flavored water

We've had this kettle for less than year. Plastic compounds are apparenty leaching into the water and have been from the start. Water tastes terrible. The single star is for the pleasent bell that sounds when it turns off.

We're sorry to hear of your experience. The only plastics in this kettle is the BPA-free plastic used in the window an around the lid. The kettle would never get hot enough to cause the plastic to become soluble. Recently started having issues

I bought this kettle 2 years ago and it was great until recently. The on and off switch (light) won’t stay on long enough for the water boil. The light keeps turning off while it is still in the on position.

Improvement suggestion

I love this jug. Is my third one so far. However, it NEEDS to have the MAX level highlighted. Either make it red so stands out, or add a light on this area so can clearly see the mark when filling the jug. Or if you have a better idea? It REALLY NEEDS THIS ADDRESSED.

been good untill

been 2 years and now the on/off switch wont stay on. Its loose internal . Sometimes a quick firm press will keep it working. Some times not. Sad that its a disposable world we live in.

From cracked top plastic window to replacement Kettle

After almost 2 years, the top plastic window seems to have cracked inexplicably. As it was not covered under warranty according to Breville, they offered a discounted purchase option for a replacement. Whilst this is helpful, it did leave a question mark as WHY the top plastic window cracked? Fortunately the crack was no so large as to drop pieces inside the kettle, it could potential be an issue to consider if you plan to use this model. The replacement kettle which we purchased from Breville works OK so far.
