There is a lot of intentional surface distressing on this style. Some people might confuse this for damage but it’s intentional. Always best to see in person before making such an investment

My advice: Save your money and get something similar for half the price. Product arrived with considerable damage. Numerous gashes and scratches were present along the entire length of almost every visible edge. The product also advertises that a standard box spring is required. However, upon receiving it is clear that this is a platform bed, so I wasted money on the box spring. Customer service initiated a replacement since this one arrived damaged, so I will update my review once that arrives. The look of the bed is OK, not nearly as sleek as it looks in the photos. The one, seemingly, good thing is that the material and construction of the bed seems sturdy.
