I wore them to seaworld so I can actually test them out because I knew I would be doing a lot of walking. By the end of the day the front and heels of my feet were throbbing. I didnt have much arch support. Like the middle of my foot was missing something. Another thing was that they didnt have any traction. It was raining that day and I slipped a few times. I didn't like them as much. I'm returning them and trading them out for a new pair.

Not the best
I’ve been getting the Brooks Ghost model since they first came out. Some models were better than others - my favorite being the 12s. I unfortunately had to send these back. I got first time ever hot spots on my feet and irritation on my ankle from the ankle collar placement. They also felt cheaper made somehow. Usually I can put on Ghosts and go without any breaking in. I love Brooks, but these I was not happy with. Bring back the 12s!

Toe box too narrow
Too narrow in the toe box…seemed okay otherwise. I sent it back. Every few years Brooks totally blows it like this and I’m sure it costs of bunch money to process returns because nobody knows what size to buy. When all my Ghost 16’s wear out, I’ll either go to a wide or go up a half size. Maybe the Ghost 18 will be out and I won’t have to figure it out.

Reunited After Years
I haven’t worn these since the Ghost 9, so this isn’t a comparison to newer models, but I was a fan of them for a while and trying these on convinced me to try them again. After 100 miles on them, I’m so glad I tried them again because these are such a good daily run shoe for me! I rotate between a few other shoes and have used these for 5-15 mile runs. They are such good quality and easy to wear. They’re firm and light, not too plush. The upper is breathable without being flexible and easy to poke holes in (a consistent problem for me in a lot of my shoes), and the shoe itself isn’t too stiff. They have just enough cushion to make road running comfortable without feeling squishy. They are durable, the foam and mesh have stayed intact better than most of my other shoes—I’m always scuffing the sides of my shoes and putting my big toe through the upper, so these are a relief. The laces stay put and don’t slip, and the arch can be tied tight to make them narrower through there if wanted, while the toe box remains on the roomier side. The tongue isn’t gusseted, but I haven’t had problems with it moving around. The heel comes up high which was weird at first but it doesn’t rub and has actually protected my heel from blisters. The one issue I’ve had is I always get blisters from these where my arch meets the ball of my foot, which isn’t an issue I usually have, even with the Ghost Max. Adding the Ghost back to my rotation was like reuniting with an old friend, even if they’ve changed over the years, it’s good to be back!

The insert inside the shoe is bigger than the Ghost 16s and runs blisters on my feet.

brooks is my shoe of choice due to the wide toe box.
