Destroyed chain - sad

I was given this purse as a Christmas gift and absolutely loved it - the color is my favorite and it was just dressed up enough to always gather a compliment wherever I took it. Unfortunately I didn't get to take it many places as within a month of very careful, gentle use, the chain basically fell apart and mangled itself beyond repair after I simply picked it up. I was heartbroken, and felt I didn't get the full use out of what was a nice and expensive present.
