Perfect

The placemats are EXACTLY what I was looking for. I have several sets pf Chilewich placemats and they are GREAT: they look very nice and are EXTREMELY easy to clean.

Striking design but very scratchy

This design is much more attractive and striking than in the very poorly lit photo. I love the design, but the weave is extremely scratchy, so unless you have a glass or granite table you will have to use another placemat or tablecloth behind it to protect your table surface from scratches. As with all Chilewich woven plastic placemats, debris will fall through the weave, or get stuck in it, so it really serves no protective purpose. They are actually rather tedious to clean, requiring a scrub brush to dislodge the debris.
