Shocked by the bad reviews!!

I love this couch!! Weve had it about 1 year and are waiting for it to go on sale again to buy a second one for our sunroom! Yes the bottom couch cushions slip down and you face to reposition them but I think that's what you're going to get with nicer furniture that isnt srwn to the couch frame and also it takes two seconds to reposition the cushions, not a big deal. The chaise does move (does not stay super attached to the other part) but again, hardly a big deal or reason to bit buy this beautiful and amazingly comfortable couch! It's so deep and comfy, I love the down feathers (poking through is just part of anything down) and they're fun to pull out and tickle your dogs nose. Again, not a big deal! I think just think the look and comfort and durability of this couch far out way those nit picky things! The cushions are easy to wash (hang dry), easy to put back on, wash well, stains come out easily, etc. I love this couch and think if you're not a terribly nitpicky person, you will too! Otherwise, good luck finding a couch better than this!

My Worst Purchase Decision Ever!

This collection looks absolutely stunning in the store, so I ordered it without asking sufficient questions. I've had this sectional and oversized chair for 1-1/2 years, and hate it for multiple reasons. 1. It's poorly made. I dread moving it to clean underneath and behind it, because it feels like it will fall apart. 2. The pillows slip out of place when you sit on it. They must constantly be repositioned. 3. The cushions are stuffed with feathers that come through the fabric. If you have pets (even though they're treated monthly), you must worry about fleas getting into the feathers and homesteading in your furniture. 4. The stuffed feathers shift easily, so this furniture develops indentations where you sit. You end up with "butt marks" in the cushions, which aren't easy to fix. Considering the relatively high cost of this furniture, it's a major disappointment and a huge waste of money. I'm already searching for a replacement.

Hasn't worn all that well

We have had this sofa in the sugarshack ivory color now for about a year and a half and we're definitely disappointed in how it has worn over time. As others have mentioned, the cushions slide all over the place causing a huge gap between the back of the sofa and the seat cushion, so that the back cushion falls into it. It's terribly inconvenient to be constantly having to put the cushions back in place from normal wear, besides that it looks very sloppy most of the time. The seat cushions themselves have also not worn down uniformly, so they look kind of lumpy and out of shape and again, rather sloppy / messy. Lastly, we have been extra careful with this sofa in terms of spills - we don't eat anywhere near the couch, and only have adults in the house. yet it looks like we eat off of it every night. We do have the lighter color, but it looks pretty terrible after a short time, which is a shame because the texture of the fabric is really beautiful, it just hasn't held up well at all. I would recommend elsewhere, and if you are set on this sofa in particular, do not get the chaise lounge and make sure you purchase the dark color.

Very Disappointing!

I special ordered this sectional, and waited weeks for it. I didn't immediately notice that it had arrived very poorly made, with misshapen arms, lumpy cushions, and uneven stitching. As soon as I noticed - a few days later - I called Macy's to request a replacement. I was given a lot of excuses, and was told they didn't consider my complaints to be valid reasons for replacement. It took my becoming very assertive with them before they agreed to send someone to my home to assess the furniture. Although the person they sent agreed with me about the furniture, Macy's still tried to find reasons not to provide a replacement. Not until I took the phone and demanded a new sectional did they finally agree to provide one. After waiting several more weeks, a new sectional was delivered. All seemed well until 2 months later, when I moved the sectional to clean the windows behind it. That's when I saw how poorly the sectional was constructed in the back. By then, it was too late to report it. After having this sectional for over a year, I can report that it has proven to be a huge waste of money. My money would have been better spent at a cheap store where furniture costs much less, instead of paying thousands for this cheap, but expensive, sectional. The cushions slip constantly, and it's quite uncomfortable. I'd wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

One Year In

We've had this sectional for about a year now. Our home consists of two average (semi-athletic, slim) young adults and two small dogs. We have guests frequently, and we spend every evening on the sofa, often more time throughout the week as well. It has just survived a move to our new place as well. When viewing the sectional in the showroom, it was much softer than when ours was delivered. I would estimate after about 1-2 months it was broken in, in the highest traffic areas. I do not experience cushion slipping as other reviewers have stated. The chaise does move about 1 inch every week or two, but I usually just walk by and push it back with my knee, nothing extreme. Overall, the sofa has worn in really well. It seems to handle normal wear and tear, and any stains have cleaned quite easily. There is no wear from our dogs (two, under 25lbs) which I am thrilled about. There is light (VERY LIGHT) fraying around the piped edges of the cushions, but again, overall I would give it a 9/10 as for wear and tear. Our delivery was good, they clipped the two pieces together and were very clean and efficient. They even moved our old sofa outside as a courtesy as it was a tight fit for us. I did notice the back piece, which you cannot see if pushed up against a wall, did have some fraying which almost looked like it was cut. I'm not sure if this was prior to or from delivery, but there is no real reason it would be there as the sofa hadn't moved between delivery and us noticing it. The pillows that came with it originally were awfully hard and uncomfortable. They were the first to go. All in all, I'd buy this again. I recommended it to my parents and am considering the sleeper sofa version for our den. I wouldn't pay full price (we didn't, we got about 45-50% off if I recall during a sale holiday weekend), but I'm very happy with the quality after a year. I expect this sofa will last us another year or two before we begin looking for something else, likely from a style change. If space allows I intend to keep it. I think that overall it's a larger piece but a great value.

Cushion Slippage an Issue

I liked this sofa in the showroom, however there is a big design flaw. The seating cushions slip down, and create a big gap where the back cushions are. This becomes cumbersome because every time I sit on it, I have to adjust the cushions. Also, it is 2 parts, and the installers did not install the bracket to attach them together. They sent it to me instead. I have no idea how to install it. I have purchased many sofas from Macy's in the past, but this will be my last one.

Couch is good; white glove service not so much

They give you a check list of things they will do and then proceed to skip most of them. Best part was walking on carpet with mud on their shoes and scratching walls with the cardboard. The checklist said they would wear covers on their shoes and vacuum the mess that doesn't happen.

So Disappointed

After many months of waiting (special order color) and 2 missed delivery appointments (nightmare) this sofa and the oversized chair are an absolute disappointment. The color (charcoal) is NOTHING like the in store swatch nor does it resemble the photo online. The pieces are hard as a rock, uncomfortable. The stuffing is uneven and lumpy. One of the feet was chipped. After HOURS on the phone (probably 15 hours in total) Macy’s has agreed to replace the pieces-however- the color is still wrong, and I’m still paying thousands of dollars for the set.I will never buy another piece of furniture from Macy’s again. Awful.
