We have bought this set about 4 years ago. It looked great at the time, as a matter of fact, my wife went out to purchase a few other matching pieces of furniture. But now the finish of the table is broken down despite our regular cleaning, the surface of the table becomes very sticky to the point unusable. I wish we could read reviews that point this fact back then if possible. We indeed purchase the protection plan but not sure if this would be covered by the protection plan. Not recommended.

We've had this set for 1.5 years now. I love the style and size of the set (more than enough space for our family of 4), but there are several issues. First, there is a huge design flaw with the bench. If you sit on one end without anyone else on it, the bench will tip. We are not large people (I'm 5' 5" and 135 lbs.) and the bench has tipped several times. Our kids are small now, but I worry about the safety of the bench as they grow bigger. Second, as others have noted, the finish on the table is not very durable either. I've only use soft cloths to clean the table, yet the finish has started to come off. With two young kids, I have to clean the table top frequently, so I am not happy that the table is not holding up to everyday use. Third, I've had a very hard time cleaning the upholstery. The chair cushions are supposed to be stain resistant, which was an important factor in our purchasing decision, however I have tried three different fabric cleaning products and am unable to lift most of the stains from the cushions. Really wish we had selected a different set.

Our table arrived with a corner that was damaged. We simply mentioned this to the delivery team and they put us in contact with Macy's customer service who then replaced our damaged table with a perfect condition new table totally for free the next week. We could even use the damaged table in the mean time. Protective plastic was somewhat difficult to get off the chairs, but I got it all eventually. We were both wowed by the new table and still think it is great.

We had gone to 5 furniture stores trying to find something we liked that was good quality, and found nothing. This table is nice and solid wood and so comfortable. Such great customer service too. We look forward to many more family dinners around this table!

However, not for our home. Thought I loved the set, but I loved it set up in Macy’s. Too heavy and rustic looking for our home. I am going to have this set returned (tags and tickets still on it) and purchase The original set we loved at Macy’s!!!

Such an awesome bench. My family consists of 3 men 6 feet and taller and they can all sit on one bench comfortably and eat. Its a very large bench that can fit around 3-4 people on each depending on how big they are!

Pros: It is beautiful, sturdy and big enough table. We have received lots of compliments about it. We have it for 2 years now. I paired it with a different set of chairs as I thought their own chair is too much matchy and also will darken up space and I think it was a good idea. Cons: I think it will not handle everyday use and may scratch easily. We are two, no pet or kids and this is just for the formal dining room but still has some light scratches.

I absolutely love this table. It is sturdy, easy to clean, but also beautiful. We got it with the chairs and bench with the idea to have the kids use the bench to avoid making a mess of the covered chairs. The bench is sturdy enough for adults thought. The only complaint is the two month wait for our items, but understood since it was purchased during a big sale.
