1 star is too much for this set
Based on my experience, I do not recommend this dining set. I purchased this Mandara 7 pc Dining set (4 side chairs, 2 arm chairs) and it has been a nightmare. It was not on stock so I had to wait about 3 weeks to receive it and when I did the table top was defective. An exchange was placed for a new one or should I say...another new one. The 2nd table we got was also defective and a technician was call was placed to try and repair a "new" table. The technician could not fix the issue and a 3rd exchange was placed. At this point I have had 5 strangers at my home and I'm still waiting on a 3rd exchange that as odds go will probably require a fourth exchange. This is the first time I buy furniture at Macys and after this experience this will definitely be my last. Not only has the table top been defective but even the chairs feel like their loosing firmness after less than 2 months.

Beautiful table and chairs. Good quality.
We bought this table, along with 2 arm chairs and 4 regular chairs about 3 years ago. With the exception of damage caused by Mayflower moving company, it's managed to survive being moved THREE times and it still looks beautiful (minus the gash). The chairs are so gorgeous. We're downsizing and I've decided to sell the table because it's too big for the new place, but I love this style so much that we are buying the smaller round table and keeping the chairs. I'm surprised at the negative reviews I've seen. When it was delivered, there was an issue with one of the chairs (can't remember what it was), but they took it back and delivered a new one a few days later. Someone said there was a "gunk" on the finish. Most furniture comes with a coating now, so I wouldn't say this is an issue with this particular table. I don't like it either, but you can buy certain cleaners that will remove it.

Don’t waste your money
Chairs are falling apart and let’s talk about about Macy’s insurance... they cover almost nothing!!! Furniture is poor and chipping and denting at the touch. Beautiful set but waste of total money! Stay away from Macy’s furniture!

TOP OF THE LINE DINING ROOM SET
I BROUGHT THIS SET FOR MY MOTHER AND WHEN WE GOT IT WE WE'RE SO BLOWN AWAY BY THE QUALITY AND THE LOOK. THE SET HAS A VERY SEXY LOOK TO IT . WHEN WE TURN THE LIGHTS ON AND THE CAST THAT CAME OFF OF IT WAS SO AMAZING. MY MOTHER HAD NOT GOTTEN A NEW SET IN OVER 50 YEARS AND THE SET THAT SHE HAD WAS STILL IN MINT CONDITION BUT IT WAS JUST TIME TO UPGRADE AS WELL AS IT'S HER BIRTHDAY AND MOTHER'S DAY IS COMING UP. MY MOTHER WAS MORE THAN PLEASED" SHE SAYS I DON'T THINK I WON'T TO PUT ANYTHING ON IT"THIS IS JUST HOW PLEASE AND HAPPY AND EXCITED SHE IS ABOUT THIS SET. PLEASE LET THERE SUPERVISOR KNOW THAT THEY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE. PERSONALITY OF THE CHARTS AND THEY KNOW HOW TO TREAT MACY'S CUSTOMERS AND THAT IS TRULY THERE GOAL. One year later "review"
When you have a bad review Macys will not post it so lets see if they will post this one, my second attempt! Love the chairs but the table is horrible. Scratches real easy, and the finish is gummy, never looks clean. I have used furniture polish and it will not look clean. We have no kids so it is not abused at all. If you want this table put it in a dining room as a show piece. Don't use it. Oh and the crumbs that get in the grooves are a pain I use a soft tooth brush to get them out. I am going to give this table away.

Traditional meets rustic old world charm
We just received our new dining set and are very happy with the purchase, and the delivery. The chairs are a comfortable firm and sturdy seat. The entire set is quite sturdy and solid, with a beautiful stain finish. I love how the ends of the table open to reveal a hidden drawer, and serve as the space for extending the length of the table with the leaf inserts. I look forward to the many meals and games we'll enjoy at this table for years to come.

Poor Quality Control
This is the second review I've tried posting about this product. The other somehow never made it online. We bought the Mandara 7 piece dining room set and had it delivered on January 4th. It's a nice looking set, but 2 of the chairs weren't level and tipped considerably. It didn't matter what floor surface it was on and the delivery person confirmed it was defective. We called customer service at Macy's. The operator wanted to send a technician out to see if they could be fixed. If not, then they would send us new chairs. After some discussion, she arranged to have 2 replacement chairs sent out the next Sunday. The new chairs came as promised, but one of the new chairs also had a leg that wasn't level, causing the chair to tip. I called and we arranged to have another chair delivered. This time, the operator said someone would check the chair before it was taken from the warehouse. Another day was set aside for the delivery. When the new chair was delivered though, it too tipped because one of the legs wasn't level with the rest. We called again. They're supposed to call us back for another delivery. COME ON! How many days do we have to set aside to get a complete dining set that isn't defective? I recommended this product in my original review with some qualifications. I can no longer do so. These chairs weren't tipping a little. It was substantial. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this dining set from Macy's.

Mandara 9 piece dining room set
I received this stunning dining room set last week, and was absolutely amazed. I had never ordered furniture online and was a little hesitant. The delivery guys were very pleasant and patient and were in and out in no time. There is not a single scratch on the table, and the chairs are very sturdy and beautiful. This set is very good quality and the design is truly the best I have seen in awhile, and I have been searching for a dining room set for over a year. I have no complaints, whatsoever, and would recommend the Mandara dining room set to anyone. You will not regret it.
