very well made sofa
I've had this sofa for over a year now and its still firm, the color is still rich and the leather looks brand new. Its aging nicely. its like a piece of art.
Will keep this updated!
The omits a very strong odor that hasn't dissipated over a month now. It also scratches very easily. IT seems that the leather may be defective. I'm having a specialist coming to assess it. I'll keep this updated as to the outcome. The couch is beautiful and super comfortable, I just want to see if these issues can be solved.

Fades fast and gets sticky
Couch is comfortable and looks great, however area in sun has faded completely and is sticky. Very disappointing. I would not shop here again.
Leather gets STICKY!
We bought this sofa a year and a half ago. It’s beautiful upon delivery. Within 60 days the leather became sticky like a lollipop on a hot day in the sun. We waited six months to see if the leather would settle. It did not. Macy’s sent a representative and replaced the sofa. The second sofa was placed in the same spot. Again it became sticky. Note this only happens where the sofa is exposed to sunlight. Even a slight amount. Anywhere a pillow or throw was placed the leather remained fine. Again Macy’s did a great job and replaced the sofa with a third new sofa. This time we bought another sofa at West Elm to sit in the sunny room and moved the Macys sofa to our rather dark media room. True to form within a few months any part of the leather exposed to the slightest amount of natural light has become sticky. Macy’s has done a phenomenal job backing their warranty. But don’t buy the cognac sofa. We will buy something else from Macy’s. They deliver excellent value.

Starts beautiful but gets very tacky
We purchased the cognac sofa and loveseat. Both look great and had nice, soft leather upon delivery. However, after around 4 months the leather has become very tacky. So much so that I don't even sit of them now because it aggravates me so much. I was worried about this prior to purchasing because I had read 1 or 2 reviews with similar issues but decided to roll the dice after discussing my concern with the salesperson who claimed he had never heard of this issue with any leather. He also recommended purchasing Macy's Worry No More protection plan just to be safe. I did just that but unfortunately, the leather is so tacky that when I attempt to use the leather conditioner included with the Worry No More package, the fibers from the included cloth actually pull away and end up stuck to the leather. The couch and sofa are in a room which gets sunlight but are NEVER in direct sunlight. Also we live in Ohio so the sun is not that intense. Has anyone found a fix for this?

Disappointed
I am very disappointed to have to return this sofa and loveseat set. After being forewarned by other reviewers, we asked to see the color of the wood at the time of delivery. It was a good thing we checked, because the loveseat came as shown online and in stores, but the wood on the sofa had a much lighter birch/natural stained! The legs were also mismatched. Customer service was very courteous and helpful, but they informed us that they only have the birch option in stock. This may be region specific, but the midcentury brown as represented by Macy’s was not an option. Although it may seem like a minor detail to some people, the wooden details are what I really liked about the Marsilla. As much as I like the design, I think the color of the wood makes a big difference. Without being able to see what the Marsilla looks like with a lighter wood stain, I cannot accept the exchange. This type of misrepresentation is not what I expected from Macy’s.
