True extra firm

This is truly EXTRA firm. It is perfect, if you want your mattress to not have any give at all. It remains to be seen how long it will feel like this for, but it arrived feeling even firmer than the floor model we tried out (which made us very happy!).

Not 'extra' firm

I like the mattress, but it is not really that FIRM, I have severe lower back pain (it states extra firm) but it definitely is not. It helps my back a little, but not what I needed, especially for the cost.

No More Backaches

I had a firm mattress that was a different brand from a different store, and I had to get rid of it after only 18 months because I got such intense backaches sleeping on it. My Serta extra firm loosened up a bit after several weeks sleeping on it, but it provides enough support that I am no longer getting severe backaches.
