Utilitarian, not a fashion statement
These are cargo shorts, so I should have been thinking hiking, not dining. The fit is fine. I presume the SPF, stretch, etc., is accurate. What I didn't like was the drape, even after washing and shaking out right out the drier. It needs ironing to be presentable in public situations. Some of the other Columbia fabrics are "no-iron" synthetics. If you don't care about that, then you are good to go!

I now have two pair of these and love them. Note: I ordered one size larger for comfort but you could probably go with your standard size
