Cleaning is time consuming and labor intensive

A design flaw makes this unit hard to clean: too bad for a unit that actually cooks well. The design flaw is compounded by the owners manual which was apparently written by someone who had not followed his own directions for cleaning. There is no diagram on the schematic showing the grilling element assembly, which is casually referred to in the cleaning instructions as held in place by wing nuts (actually two regular screws, two springs, and two rubber gaskets). The heating element has to be removed in order to clean the inside of the grill. Add to this that the clearances are such that you risk some nasty scratches from the supporting structures. The unit works well on non-fatty meats, but is not designed to deal with fatty hamburgers as the drip pan is too small to handle the runoff.

Cumbersome at times but a decent machine

Cleaning it isnt hard, but like assembly a bit cumbersome to the point you are like if i can skip a step i will. Size is perfect for a family or 1 or 2. Would have been nice is a real bbq cover was available for it not just a tote bag.... was disappointed with that. I wouldnt grill anything overly complex on it but some simple items like fish , burgers and chicken wings it did a really good job. But i had to keep on adjusting the temperature gage and the locking mechanism or the lid requires 2 hands instead of 1 which again is cumbersome but not a deal breaker

Outdoor Electric Barbecue/Grill

What THEY DON’T tell you is that when the legs are FULLY EXTENDED…The height of the Barbecue/Grill is 28 inches!!!!! It comes up to my navel and I am 5ft 5 inches tall. It is also a wicked thing to CLEAN.

Poor Temperature Control

This is a well constructed portable electric grill but the electrical temperature controller is either very poorly designed or faulty. It's settings are extremely non-linear; at the maximum setting the heating element is so hot that it triggers a power shut down making further operation impossible until the whole unit has cooled down. Small downward adjustment of the rheostat sets the heating element temperature too low to effectively cook. So, the temperature setting is either to hot to sustain continued cooking or too cool to be effective, all over a very small adjustment of the temperature dial.

Rated low

First time I plugged it in to heat up, it broke! Never have been able to use it. Heating element won’t heat.
