I've struggled with my weight my whole life and have tried, or read about, many "diets." After almost a half century of struggling, I have finally realized that it's all about science--a calorie deficit--and Melody Schoenfeld helped me to understand this. She dedicates a chapter to each popular diet and lists/explains the pros and cons, supported by individual testimonials and SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH!! But don't let that scare you. Being a non-scientist, I usually start to go to my happy place when things get technical, but Melody does such a great job of explaining the science in simple terms, that I actually did not skim those parts. Her overall voice is warm and friendly--very conversational without being condescending. In the second part of the book, she includes lots of good information on how to go about losing weight by keeping to a sustainable plan. And I must say, the book is colorful, well-organized, and really easy to read. I'll be using it as a resource for a long time!

Eye opening truths about all those diets
Here's a book that lays it all out there for you. With soo many different diets out there how do you know what works for you... how do you know if ANY of them work? This book not only gives you the truth about each one, it also debunks alot of the myths we have about diets in general. Reading this helped me understand why some worked for me and some didn't and in the end why I ultimately gain back weight. And the best part is that it's written in a fun way, making it an easy but informative read!
