Fun

My kids loved doing this gem excavation. My daughter had the most fun she loves collecting rocks, gems, crystals ect. She said this was the best thing ever having to actually dig up a pretty gem. It was a little messy but we put it in a blanket so clean up was easy.

So much fun!

My 7 year old daughter is a complete rock hound like me and this was something we enjoyed doing together. I mean, who doesn't like digging up treasures? Fun excavation set

This little toy treasure excavation kit is a fun activity for kids. The tools are simple and easy to use, however my son struggled a little to break up the rock. I highly recommend using this kit as the treasure in a buried treasure hunt--it adds an element of wonder to it and the kids love it! It had two shark teeth in it which were kind of hard to find because they were really small. He did have fun with it.

Great STEM kit for kids!

My kids loved this toy excavation kit! I have a wide range of ages (13 to 3) at home and everyone has fun with this kit. My 3 year old thinks it's fun to "dig for treasures" and the older ones love to learn more about archeology through the included materials, and use those techniques to dig for things outside. This is a fun family interactive activity that breaks up the normal routine!

Loved it!

My son loves excavation kits and he of course loved this one! It was a little disappointing seeing only 1 rock in there but I honestly this I was more disappointed than he was. It's the experience that he loves, the gems are just an added bonus for him.

The box says 3 surprises inside...

I got this as a fun activity for me and my 2 children, ages 7 and 9. I thought this would be great because the box says 3 surprizes inside, which lead me to believe we would find 3 thing total in the clay rock. We let my youngest go first and he picked a lucky spot and ended up finding a gem stone right away. Next it was my daughter's turn and after over an hour of scraping away we figured out that the gem stone was the only thing in there. I'm unsure if the company is counting the clay and chisel as 2 of the surprises but I would have like them to better indicate that. Other than the disappointment of a child it was kind of fun.

Cute little kit

I got this cause it's something my kids and I enjoy doing together. The little design on the top of the "clay/dirt" was super cute. We let it sit in water for about 5 minutes to make it easier to dig through. My kids really enjoyed finding the stone that was in it. They continued to play with the "clay/dirt" after we found the stone and really enjoyed it.

Awesome!

My daughter loves these digging/excavation kits. She really feels a sense of accomplishment when she works on digging out each individual "surprise". This excavation kit by Discovery was not too hard for her to "excavate", but it wasn't too soft and easy to dig apart either.
