hat for small child

I bought the Spider-Man ones and the hat barely fit my 6 year old grandson bought another to give to a lip 8 year old boy ā€¦ very embarrassed that the hat probably will not fit himā€¦ blanket nice. description says not for under 3 however the hat will probably fit 2-4 year old. very disappointed it did not say this in discription
