Much lighter to handle than my other one.

I have had my new vacuum cleaner for only a few days, and am very happy with it. I would like to say a big thank you for Lloyd for guiding me through the replacement process. He has been very helpful.

VERY HAPPY

Having both a smaller stick vacuum and a "drag-along" (both Dysons) I am very pleased with the Gen5detect. The easy switch from the long shaft to the short shaft is Great. Saves carrying around an extra attachment. The info feedback on particle size is handy and somewhat fascinating. Battery charge holds long enough for a standard house - unless you are fully catpeted. Easy to clean and maneuver. Will be interested in the longevity of the filters. Overall very pleased with the machine.

Dyson Gen5detect™ Complete vacuum

Good on wooden floors but constantly stalls on the carpet. Stopped working altogether after a month and had to take back to Dyson. Was fixed without being told what the issue was. I've had dysons for years but this one is a bit of a lemon

So convenient with stairs!

Dyson is a splurge but I love this vacuum and have never had cleaner floors. I'm in a 3 story townhouse with carpet, laminate, and tile. I wanted something cordless and easy to take up and down and this fits the bill. The attachments are so convenient and easy to swap out. I love the light on the on the one for hard floors that shows all the dust and dog hair, ew, but excellent. I also use the pet hair one to turn it into a hand vac for my carpeted stairs. I hung the battery charging station in a closet and love that it doesn't take up much space. Emptying the filter canister is a breeze. Suction and noise are solid, as I expected from a Dyson. Only complaint I have is with the app you use to register your product. It recommended attachments that I ordered that didn't fit my model so now I have to deal with returning those and sadly was excited about them. So keep a keen eye out and don't assume all accessories will work for your model. Otherwise, I love it.

Dry pleased with the new Dyson. Longer battery so that I can do the whole house in one go. It is heavier but has larger dust collection receptacle.
