Harvesting Fun

My little dude loves his plush vegetable garden. We were constantly playing a gardening game on the computer or helping Grandma with her garden, so when we saw this we knew we had to have it. He loves planting and picking vegetables, we've even started to find them "planted" in the couch cushions. Little sister has been getting in on the action too.

Great for reinforcing gardening/cooking/nature concepts

My 3 kids love to help out with our backyard veggie garden and love to harvest! I LOVE this open-ended toy. It reinforces the concept of gardening, while they are playing pretend inside. So many times i have overheard them say to each other, "Shall we play garden?" I love how soft the veggies and soil are. My youngest son loves to take all the soft veggies out/off and put them in a basket. My oldest daughter likes to pretend it's her doll's garden. She also really appreciates the worms pictured on the box underneath the soil! There are so many teaching opportunities with this toy. My 3 year old constantly cooks with the veggies. I love it when he comes and offers me the pumpkin soup he made from the pumpkin he harvested from his garden!

Vegetable Garden is a great 2-3yesr old toy!

We use this item as a tabletop and circle time activity. Just setting it out on the table sparked a little girls imagination to go get a market basket from the kitchen/home life area and start picking vegetables and placing them in the basket as if she was at the farmers market or even in a farm field. At circle time we discuss how food grows with water, soil, sun. Where does it grow? Above ground or below the ground. We can pass around the soft vegetable items, name them and say what color they are. We can explore if the items need to be cooked before eating. Endless opportunities for learning and imaginative play.

Adorable Play Garden Set

My two toddlers love this set. We have had a garden for years, and this is the first year they are really into it. This set allows them to play with the real garden outside and a play with a "fake" garden inside. There are enough items that they can play together. I love that you can take them off the vine because there is velco. This allows them to take them into their play kitchen, cook them, and eat them. It is also comes in a cute wood looking crate, so it's easy to store all the items.

Vegetable garden fun for your toddler!

My 2.5 year old loves this vegetable garden set! She was introduced to real gardening at grandma's house this summer and this has been a wonderful way for her to use her skills and imaginative play to garden at home. As a parent, I appreciated the parent activity guide that came with the set. It gave ideas of how to extend learning using this toy with activities such as sorting, counting and building vocabulary. Overall, a great toy set for hours of toddler fun/learning.
