pretty but light on the gold

Bought the emerald and diamond ring on sale. Makes me wonder if Effy swapped out a lighter weight gold setting. It is nothing like my older rings or even older rings from Effy. Looked at how it is made. Hollowed out as much as possible and i wonder if the part for sizing is really solid. Need to shop in person so I can detect when they skimp on the gold.
