A better travel guide than a biography

If you want to know what Ernest Hemingway did at the various places around the world so you can visit them and follow his footsteps this book may be for you. If you are hoping for new biographical insights in a fluid readable timeline you may want to look elsewhere. I didn’t find the prose to be “graceful” and the timelines were disjointed to the point where I lost my way at least twice in the first few chapters of the book. Once I realized it was better approached similar to a Fodor’s travel book I picked out the places I have either visited or would like to visit and read those sections. That finally made the read interesting, although it also left a lot of the book unread.
